Storytime at Douglas County Libraries emphasizes five simple activities — reading, talking, writing, singing and playing—that help children learn the skills to be ready to read. You can build on your child's learning by incorporating these activities into your day as well. A great way to do this is to sign up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Exposure to lots of books is a great predictor of reading readiness and school success.
