Covid-19 Update

All Douglas County Libraries locations are open and operating under governmental health guidelines.

Protect Yourself & Others

The state of Colorado is supplying DCL with a limited quantity of masks* for distribution to customers from our Welcome Desks at all library locations during regular business hours. Customers may receive a maximum of 5 masks/person/month, on a first-come, first-served basis. People must be present to receive masks, and cannot request masks for others who are not present. This process will be based on the honor system. Hand sanitizer stations are set up at library entrances, public service desks, cash-handling points, and other heavily used areas. Douglas County Libraries continues to offer curbside and virtual services.
*We are out of rapid test kits, and don't anticipate receiving additional kits. Find a COVID-19 test.

Safety Precautions & Protocols

Enhanced in-library cleaning and disinfecting procedures are ongoing using EPA-registered disinfectants and Protexus Electrostatic Sprayer disinfecting guns. Library HVAC systems provide "single pass 100% outside air."

DCL Employee COVID Status

DCL follows health department and CDC guidelines for staff to return to work after reporting COVID positivity. Any employee who reports testing positive for COVID-19, shows symptoms, or has experienced a confirmed exposure event is immediately asked to follow the CDC and local health guidelines for isolation/quarantine as applicable.
