Children at Storytime

Battle of the Books

This bowl-style trivia tournament all about books engages hundreds of young minds every year. Dozens of teams in grades 3-6 compete for the chance to become Battle of the Books champions.

Bark for Books

Bark for Books helps budding and struggling readers build confidence and self-esteem by reading out loud to trained therapy dogs without the stress of being judged.

Reading Buddies

This unique program matches trained teen volunteers to struggling readers, ages 6-9. Buddies meet weekly for two months to read and enjoy literacy-based games. Applications are available in the children's/teen area or get started now by contacting one of our friendly staff.

Reading Levels

Looking for the right books to match your child's reading level and foster growth? AR BookFinder and Scholastic's Book Wizard can help.

Page to Stage

Page to Stage

Page to Stage brings literature to life! Every year, we bring a classic tale to schools across the county in the form of a traveling theater production especially for kids in grades K-5.
Epic Reads

Epic Reads

Library staff from your closest DCL branch will come to your school to recommend just-right books to your students in a fun and interactive way.
Book an Archivist

Book an Archivist

Got history? We do! Archivists and local historians from the Douglas County History Research Center can visit your school to talk about local and state history and how they keep track of it.
Our Educator eNewsletter comes out in January, May and August, helping you get ready for each new semester and for keeping students engaged over the long summer break.
Library Tours are available to your class. Set a date to come see how things work!
Resources by Request is like having a personal shopper at the library. We'll compile a set of materials for you on any topic, author or genre — all you have to do is come pick them up.

Did you know you have your very own DCL School Liaison? We’d love to visit your classroom!
